Newborns should sleep in cool environments below 70 degrees (sleeping in warm environments is linked to an increased risk of SIDS).
Place your infant to sleep on his or her back on a firm surface.
Don’t use bumpers, crib blankets, pillows, sheepskins, or toys in the crib.
Pajamas should be fitted, not floppy.
Swaddling blankets should not extend above the baby’s chin.
