Endowment for Student Success at CSUB

FD_genericCSUB
CSU Bakersfield has announced a generous gift from a CSUB faculty member designated to further academic excellence. Dr. Kegley, Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, has committed $200,000 to establish two funds to create, maintain, and enhance the newly announced Dr. Jacquelyn Kegley Center for Student Success. “My family and I have long been dedicated to academic success and enrichment,” said Dr. Kegley, who has taught for 44 years and is currently the Chair of the Academic Senate. “To create this endowed fund, which is dedicated to supporting an environment that is conducive to that goal, is a wonderful realization of a lifetime’s work.” The new Center will be located in what is currently Modular West on Student Way, directly across from the residence halls. This facility will provide space for workshops, tutoring, study sessions, group advising meetings, and a permanent home for the Athletics Academic Advising Program, as well as offer collaborative sessions with other campus resources such as the Center for Community Engagement and Career Education, Financial Aid and the Health Center.
