SunEdison announced the company is making a $20,000 donation to support the Lamont School District students’ participation in NASA’s “Summer of Innovation” 2013 program, which provides hands-on learning opportunities for students and educators through NASA-unique science, technology, engineering, and mathematics educational activities during the summer school break. The program is a key component of NASA’s effort to increase student interest in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) courses. This contribution is part of SunEdison’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in which the company develops projects, ensuring students have the opportunity to pursue STEM careers. The program is held at CSU Bakersfield, a partner in the Summer of Innovation, and will benefit students in Kern County grades 4-8.
