Are you a community leader in Kern County? Would you like to learn how to listen to constituents with a clear understanding of how to seek endorsements and support while reserving the right to make independent decisions? If so, then the Kern Leaders Academy would like to hear from you! They will soon be selecting 8 qualified community leaders to participate in this year’s extensive education and training program, conducted by the Kern County Taxpayers Education Fund. Training begins next September with 72 hours of instruction over 9 weeks. The Kern Leaders Academy is a county-wide, community leadership program. They will provide education and training to civic, professional and business leaders and others with outstanding leadership potential so that they may enter public service with the appropriate skills and vision to creatively address the challenges facing Kern County. Prominent faculty members will facilitate graduates in gaining the knowledge and vision to put their services forward as community leaders and eventually, elected public officials. Deadline for applications is Friday June 28th at 5pm. Tuition is $1,000 and payment must be received by September 3rd.
