Danielle Simpson, a graduate from Tehachapi High, was recently awarded the JL Waite Financial Scholarship. The $200 cash award has been given out for the past 5 years to high school seniors who exemplify high academics, involvement in extracurricular activities and service to others. Danielle had a 4.1 GPA overall and was ranked in the top of her class through the California Scholastic Federation. In addition, she has been involved in basketball, volleyball, and track & field, in reorganizing the Beale library, and providing service at senior citizens’ homes.
Danielle plans to attend Cuesta College in the fall and major in Psychology. Her advice to incoming high-school freshmen is, “Live every day to the fullest because four years go by very quick,” Simpson said. “Get involved and enjoy life.”
