Getting around was already becoming a challenge for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kern County when their old - very old - van suffered a blown engine, literally leaving many children who were being transported, stranded. But thankfully, the Bakersfield North Rotary was able and willing to facilitate the purchase of a gently used Toyota van. “The BNR Foundation made a generous donation to help purchase this badly needed van,” said Zane Smith, Executive Director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kern County. “We transport approximately 20 children daily afterschool, making several trips from a variety of locations to our Niles Street Club. We are so grateful!”
