Business Leadership & Ethics Conference

More than 168 selected area high school students are expected to attend the Business Leadership & Ethics Conference to be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Marriott is located at 801 Truxtun Avenue.

The conference, now in its 31st year, provides students the opportunity to interact with businessmen and women from the Bakersfield community and to explore the leadership qualities and ethical practices they will need in their careers.

"This annual event allows students to refine their leadership and decision-making skills under the guidance of respected, local business leaders. Together, we are developing tomorrow's leaders," said Brian Mendiburu, Supervising Administrator of Students Support Services for the Kern High School District (KHSD). The conference is co-sponsored by area Rotary Clubs and the KHSD.

Event structure calls for participating juniors to join Rotarians and KHSD representatives in round table discussions of various scenarios involving leadership characteristic and ethical practices. More than 28 Rotarians are expected to participate in the discussions.
