Frontier H.S. National Honor Society Gives Back

Annual project impacts community in a massive way.

The Frontier High School (FrHS) National Honor Society is hosting Frontier’s Big Give. It’s an annual project to give back to the community in a massive way.

Frontier’s Big Give is hosting a pancake and sausage breakfast for all Kern County Firefighters, Police Officers, Corrections Officers, Sheriff’s Officers and CHP Officers. The breakfast will be held in the Frontier High School cafeteria, located at 6401 Allen Road on Thursday, April 21st from 7:00 am - 8:00 am.

For these teens, creating a better world starts right on their campus. “We are working to give back to a community that gives to us,” says FrHS student Brian Chau about beginning the program. Frontier takes pride in the fact that this campaign is one hundred percent student led.

As part of the Big Give program, students formed teams, each led by a member of Frontier’s National Honor Society. Each team selected a charity or cause and will donate either their time or products to the organization. Currently there are 15 teams attached to charitable organizations such as SPCA, the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter, Optimal Hospice, Kern County Fire Department, Rosewood Gardens, and Ronald McDonald House. Frontier’s Big Give will run April 24th through April 30th and promises to be as big as the hearts behind it.
