Chip, Chip Hooray! for Chocolate Chip Day.

Can you imagine life without chocolate chips? Neither can we! The inspiration of so many dreamy desserts, these semi-sweet morsels are sweetly commemorated on May 15, Chocolate Chip Day.

Bake a batch of perfect, classic chocolate chip cookies early to fill the cookie jar for May 15, or be inspired to make a chocolate chip dessert suitable for Mother's Day on May 11th.

Chocolate Chip Pie

1 C (6 oz) NESTLé TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell *

2 large eggs

1/2 C all-purpose flour

1/2 C granulated sugar

1/2 C packed brown sugar

3/4 C (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

1 cup chopped nuts

Sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

(Makes 8 servings)

PREHEAT oven to 325 F.

BEAT eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy. Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat in butter. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spoon into pie shell.

BAKE 55-60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.* NOTE: If using frozen pie shell, use deep-dish style, thawed completely. Bake on baking sheet; increase baking time slightly.

Original Chocolate Chip Cookies

2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 C (2 sticks) butter, softened

3/4 C granulated sugar

3/4 C packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 C (12 oz package) NESTLé TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1 C chopped nuts

(Makes 5 dozen cookies)

PREHEAT oven to 375 F.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Fast Tip: Use NESTLé Toll House Tub Cookie Dough, or chocolate chip pre-scored cookie dough - simply break apart and bake..
