Join the American Heart Association's (AHA) Go Red for Women campaign on February 6, and show your support by wearing red clothing or accessories. This movement began in 1997 with a primary goal to educate women that heart disease is their leading cause of deathÖ a fact most women still do not take to heart.

The Go Red for Women campaign challenges women to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. Visit to find tools to lead heart-healthy lives: healthy recipes, questions to ask your healthcare provider, a chance to donate money and receive a free Red Dress pin, a 12-week fitness plan, and much more.

The AHA is the largest voluntary health organization fighting heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases, which kill more than 870,000 Americans each year. That's a life every 36 seconds. Furthermore, cardiovascular disease claims the lives of approximately 460,000 women every year causing almost one death per minute.

The Go Red for Women campaign is nationally sponsored by Macy's and Merck & Co., Inc. For more information, visit .
