A father of three, he says a perfect day to enjoy a burger would be after a day of golf when it's 80 degrees with a light northerly breeze, Jimmy Buffet playing in the background, and a tall cold root beer for refreshment.

DR. LARRY E. REIDER, Kern County Superintendent of Schools, recently announced his retirement concluding a 44-year career in education. His staff will miss him and his culinary skills.

This father of one daughter isn't much of a "burger" guy, but he does enjoy a nice, juicy steak. He enjoys grilling and he says the key to a perfect steak is being with people you like and being around people who enjoy good food and good drink.
