As flu season approaches, the Kern County Public Health Department has confirmed more than 80 cases of H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) involving local residents. Albeit the severity of illnesses caused by the Pandemic H1N1 virus today has not been any worse than seasonal influenza, it continues to be the predominant circulating influenza virus throughout the state. The best ways to protect your family and yourself from catching H1N1 and other seasonal viruses can be summed up with the three C's: Cover your cough - Clean your hands - Confine sick people at home
