RAISING AWARENESS FOR ADOPTION IN KERN COUNTY
November is National Adoption Awareness Month, a national effort to raise awareness of the 114,000 children in foster care nationwide waiting to find permanent, loving families. The Department of Human Services and the Kern County Superior Courts with support from numerous community partners will recognize National Adoption Awareness Month and celebrate National Adoption Day here in Kern County for the seventh year in a row. National Adoption Day has made the dreams of thousands of local foster children come true by working with courts, judges, attorneys, and advocates to finalize adoptions and find permanent, loving homes for children in foster care.
This year, 45 children will celebrate finding forever families as their adoptions are completed on Friday, November 20th, as part of National Adoption Day here in Kern County.
