Top 5 Ways to Find Christmas JOY!
|
With the holiday's to-do lists growing longer and the days growing shorter, losing the spirit of Christmas can have you frazzled and stressed out. Local mom's organizational blog, www.justorganizeyourself.blogspot.com, provides a countdown to Christmas with different tasks to accomplish each day. Joy Rodriguez, organizational expert and mother of four boys, started her daily countdown on her blog, J-O-Y (Just Organize Yourself), as a way to calm the Christmas chaos.
"I want to take away that nauseated-anxiety-overwhelmed, 'stay-in-bed-with-the-covers-over-your-head' feeling out of Christmas and replace it with feelings of anticipation, excitement, and peace," Joy says.
She offers five ways to find Christmas JOY:
1. Create a Christmas binder – a place to keep all your gift lists, labels, projects, dinner menus, addresses, treats, and traditions in one place.
2. Start early & schedule your tasks – simplify, prioritize, and schedule your Christmas to-dos.
3. Do a few things well – instead of trying to do everything and ending up with a lot of mediocre accomplishments, focus your energy on a few tasks that are important to you.
4. Set up your home for success – set up a mailing and wrapping center with supplies bought ahead of time, get rid of clutter, and extra décor.
5. Take care of yourself – exercise, nurture your spirit, simplify your daily tasks, and delegate!
In addition to the Christmas Countdown, Joy's blog has organizational tips about every aspect of your home: kitchen, laundry, meal planning, yard work, clutter, food storage, and even mom time. You can even sign up to be one of her "organized ladies" and receive e-mail updates.
