Being the mother of three boys has its ups and downs. Aside from the constant, er, "energy" involved in staying sane and keeping these boys fed and happy and healthy, there is also the constant dirt, smells, and general maintenance involved. You can imagine each boy has his very own unique personality and place in the family line up. And, as so often is the case, the youngest of the three is always trying to make himself known, keep up with his brothers, and display the "can-a-kid-get-some-attention-around-here!" kind of attitude.
During a normal morning rush before school I was trying to get the boys breakfast, dressed, lunches made, etc. I offered my son, Jack, a choice of very healthy and fortified (because I'm a healthy mom like that) cereals such as Frosted Flakes, Golden Grahams and Apple Jacks. It just so happened that Jack, chose Apple Jacks cereal that day.
I then offered the same choices of cereal to my youngest hooligan, Charlie (4 yrs old at the time). I said, "Charlie, would you like Apple Jacks this morning too?"
He replied, "No thanks mom. I'll have Apple Charlie's instead."
