MOPS Craft Project: St. John's Lutheran
Did you know that St. John’s Lutheran Church has a MOPS group? Women who have children ages birth-Kindergarten meet the second Thursday of the month September through May 9:00 to 11:00a.m.at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 4500 Buena Vista Road.
Hospitality is their strong suit and they will welcome you, encourage you, love on you, pamper you, then send you home feeling relaxed and refreshed. During St. John’s MOPS meetings the children are well taken care of while moms enjoy a delicious brunch, listen to guest speakers, and enjoy a useful simple craft. When the women are not meeting at the church, they are out an about Bakersfield having play dates or mom’s nights out. The total annual cost is $78. 10-minute Napkin Rings
Add a little sparkle to your dinner table with these easy-to-make beaded napkin rings. You need: 16-gauge wire • Assorted beads • Wooden dowel or rolling pin, 4 to 5 cm (1-5/8 to 2 in) in diameter • Needle-nose pliers
Step 1: Cut 50 cm (20-in) length of wire, then twist approx 4 cm (1-5/8 in) at 1 end into tight, flat spiral approximately 5 mm (1/4 in) in diameter.
Step 2: Wind remaining wire around dowel to form loose spiral.
Step 3: Thread remaining end through approx 1 dozen beads, then twist end into second tight, flat spiral.
