Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS) Christine Lizardi Frazier recently awarded 17 teacher mini-grants to support innovative classroom Education projects. Teachers from KCSOS divisions of Special Education Services and Student Services, whose previously submitted classroom project proposals were approved, will receive cash awards totaling approximately $13,000.
Some of the grants include money that funds performing artists’ workshops, provides job training in construction industry trades, assists disabled students learning to control their bodies through play, purchases an instructional DVD for teaching students Sign Language, and provides orthopedically challenged students warm water therapy to practice gross motor skills.
