First Annual "Anthony's Seeing is Believing" 5K/10K and Family Walk

by Vaun Thygerson
Staff writer and mother of three

The first annual “Anthony’s Seeing is Believing” 5K/10K and Family Walk will be held on Saturday, February 4, at the Park at Riverwalk at 8:00 a.m.  Organized by Anthony’s parents, this event will help provide funding and awareness for The Foundation For Retinal Research.  This foundation is doing research in gene therapy to treat Lebers Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), which is the rare, genetic disease that Anthony was diagnosed with at 3 months of age.  This condition causes severe vision loss and blindness in infants and children.

This fun, family event will also provide breakfast, raffles, and music. You can register for the event online at www.bakersfieldtrackclub.com, www.active.com, and www.anthonysseeingisbelieving.com. ; For more information on the foundation, please visit www.tfrr.org.
