Local School Shoots PSA

Inclusion Films of Bakersfield recently shot a Public Service Announcement for 211 LA County at Bakersfield Fire Station 1 in downtown on the Safely Surrendered Baby Law. Inclusion Films is a vocational program for young adults with developmental disabilities. They teach young people all aspects of the film industry, from preproduction to postproduction (acting, editing, story and screen writing, camera work, gaffing, electrical, grip work, art direction, scenery and set design, etc.).

“We get paid jobs, so after they go through our program for several semesters, we can put our students to work in the industry and have them make money,” said Dale Oprandy, Executive Artistic Director for Inclusion Films. “We were filming at the fire station because fire stations are a place where a young mother that’s considering getting rid of her child after it’s born can safely relinquish that child with no questions asked.”
