Logan's Greenhouse (Where in the Garden? #3)

Logan, a boy who uses a wheelchair, hunts for carrots in his accessible-equipped greenhouse. Like his predecessors, Amara and Miguel, Logan uses his compare and contrast skills to help the reader identify produce. Every book in the Where in the Garden series winds down to a celebration with each of the friends making a cameo in each other’s books, and back matter includes a yummy recipe to try featuring the produce discovered within.

Bioblitz!: Counting Critters

by Susan Edwards Richmond, illustrated by Stephanie Fizer Coleman (Peachtree, for ages 4-8)

Come along as Gabriel and his cousin Ava (from Susan Edwards Richmond and Stephanie Fizer Coleman previous collaboration,  Bird Count) join in a Biodiversity Day at a local nature park. Placed on different teams, the two compete to see which group finds the most species of animal life in the time allotted. Kids will enjoy finding all the species (even the ones that are hidden away in the illustrations) that appear on the lists compiled in each habitat.
