The City of Bakersfield’s popular Independence Day celebration and free fireworks show will be held at The Park at River Walk on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Attendees will be treated to recorded music by DJ Pantomime at the Dignity Health Amphitheatre starting at 6 p.m. prior to the fireworks. Zambelli Fireworks will produce the fireworks show, which this year is made possible thanks to the Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center and the City of Bakersfield. This year a beer garden will be set up in the park just east of the Dignity Health Amphitheatre. No outside alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the park, as per park rules. Alcohol may be purchased and consumed only in the beer garden. Cold water and other beverages will also be available at the beer garden. The fireworks show is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Patriotic music provided by DJ Pantomime will accompany the fireworks show. Traffic closures in the area are set to begin at 8 p.m. Several food vendors are also expected to be available at the park during the event: -Carney Kettle Corn -El Churro Loco -Itoyz -Poppi’s Pastrami
