Paper Bag Haunted Houses
Paper Bag Haunted Houses

Materials:

  • Brown paper lunch bags
  • Markers, crayons, or paint
  • Stickers or construction paper shapes
  • Scissors
  • Glue


Instructions:

  1. Flatten the paper bag and decorate it like a haunted house — windows, doors, ghosts, and pumpkins.
  2. Cut out small shapes for bats or roof shingles and glue them on.
  3. Stuff the bag lightly with tissue paper to give it shape.
  4. Fold the top down and tape or staple shut.
  5. Display your haunted houses on a shelf or windowsill.

Glow Stick Lanterns
Glow Stick Lanterns

Materials:

  • Mason jars or clear plastic cups
  • Glow sticks
  • Tissue paper or colored cellophane
  • Glue or Mod Podge
  • Paintbrush


Instructions:

  1. Brush glue on the outside of the jar.
  2. Cover with tissue paper or cellophane for a colorful glow.
  3. Use markers, construction paper, googly eyes to draw and create a fun face
  4. Activate a glow stick and place it inside.
  5. Seal the lid or cover the top with paper.
  6. Turn off the lights and enjoy your glowing lanterns!

Egg Carton Bats
Egg Carton Bats

Materials:

  • Egg cartons (cut into cup sections)
  • Black paint
  • Black construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • String or ribbon
  • Glue
  • Scissors


Instructions:

  1. Cut the egg carton cups.
  2. Paint the entire piece black and let it dry.
  3. Cut bat wings from black construction paper and glue them to the sides of the egg carton cup.
  4. Glue on googly eyes to the center cup.
  5. Punch a small hole on top and thread string through.
  6. Hang your bats upside down for a spooky effect!

Paper Plate Pumpkins
Paper Plate Pumpkins

Materials:

  • Paper plates
  • Orange paint or markers
  • Black construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Green pipe cleaners


Instructions:

  1. Color or paint the paper plate orange and let it dry.
  2. Cut out triangle eyes and a mouth from black construction paper.
  3. Glue the face pieces onto the plate.
  4. Twist a green pipe cleaner into a small stem and glue it to the top.
  5. Display your pumpkin on a wall, door, or fridge for instant Halloween cheer.

Ghost Lollipops
Ghost Lollipops

Materials:

  • Lollipops
  • White tissues or napkins
  • Small pieces of ribbon or string
  • Black marker


Instructions:

  1. Place a tissue over the top of the lollipop, letting it drape down like a ghost.
  2. Tie a ribbon or string around the “neck” to secure the tissue.
  3. Use a black marker to draw two spooky eyes.
  4. Hand them out as party favors or tuck them into trick‑or‑treat bags.

Pom‑Pom Spiders

Materials:

  • Black pom‑poms (medium or large)
  • Googly eyes
  • Black pipe cleaners
  • Glue


Instructions:

  1. Glue two googly eyes onto the pom‑pom.
  2. Cut pipe cleaners into equal lengths for legs.
  3. Bend each piece slightly and glue four legs on each side of the pom‑pom.
  4. Let dry completely before moving.
  5. Place your spiders on shelves, tables, or windowsills for a cute creepy touch.

Toilet Paper Roll Monsters

Materials:

  • Empty toilet paper rolls
  • Paint or colored paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers or crayons
  • Yarn or pipe cleaners


Instructions:

  1. Paint or wrap each roll in colorful paper.
  2. Glue on googly eyes — one, two, or even five!
  3. Draw silly mouths, teeth, or fangs with markers.
  4. Add yarn or pipe cleaner hair for extra flair.
  5. Line them up for a monster parade!

Ghoulish Guacamole Dip
Spooky Snack Attack: Ghoulish Guacamole Dip

Makes 4 servings

For the dip:

  • 3 large avocados, halved, pitted, peeled, and diced
  • garlic clove, minced
  • lime, juiced
  • dash Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • small handful of cilantro, finely chopped


To serve:

6 large carrots

  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • handful of stuffed olives, sliced
  • handful of seedless red grapes, sliced
  • 5 slivered almonds


Instructions:

Make the dip: Mash avocado, garlic, lime juice, Tabasco, sour cream, salt, and pepper until smooth. Stir in cilantro, then cover and chill.

  1. Make the "eyes": Slice two carrots into thick rounds. Top with sour cream, olive slices and halved grapes.
  2. Make the "fingers": Cut remaining carrots into finger shapes. Carve small nail beds and insert slivered almonds for fingernails.
  3. Serve: Arrange the carrot fingers in the avocado dip and place the carrot eyes alongside.
