Gratitude reminds us of what we have received. Grace challenges us to offer kindness, even when it may not be deserved. Forgiveness invites us to release the hurts, disappointments, and resentments we have carried for too long.
As we gather around our tables, perhaps we can consider relationships that need mending, conversations we have avoided, or apologies we have been reluctant to offer. Extending grace does not mean ignoring hurt, and forgiveness does not mean pretending nothing happened. Rather, both create opportunities for healing, understanding, and peace.
Perhaps the most meaningful expression of Thanksgiving is not simply counting our blessings but becoming a blessing to others. A kind word, a sincere apology, or a willingness to forgive may be the gift someone needs most.
This November, let us give thanks for what we have, extend grace to those around us, and embrace forgiveness wherever possible. In doing so, we may discover that gratitude grows deeper when our hearts make room for compassion, reconciliation, and love.
