This Valentine’s Day, you can turn simple fruit into a fun, hands‑on activity for kids and a charming treat for the whole family. Whether you enjoy them plain or dipped in chocolate, they’re an easy way to add a little love—and a lot of smiles—to your celebration.Strawberry Hearts
Equipment:
- small, wooden sticks
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. fresh strawberries, medium to large
- 2 cups dark or milk chocolate chips
- Optional for decorating: white chocolate drizzles, sprinkles, edible glitter, nuts
Instructions:
- Rinse and gently pat dry fresh strawberries.
- With a small, sharp knife, in a circular motion, carve out the stem of the strawberry. See image above.
- Slice the strawberry in half.
- At the top center of each of the berry halves, cut a small V-shape.
- Gently insert a wooden stick at the bottom of the heart shape.
- Heat the chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds. Repeat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Dip strawberries in melted chocolate. Let them dry on parchment paper until the chocolate firms.
- Decorate and enjoy!
