KCAS World Spay Day Event 2026

Kern County Animal Services is proud to take part in World Spay Day on February 24, 2026, a global initiative dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of pets and strengthening the communities they live in. Spaying and neutering remains one of the most effective ways to reduce pet overpopulation, prevent unwanted litters, and support a safer, more compassionate Kern County.
  • $20 Co-Pay per Dog/Cat (must be paid within 72 hours of booking appointment)
  • Unincorporated Residents in Targeted Zip Codes with $0 Co-Pay: 93305, 93306, 93307, & 93308.


Qualifications:
  • Unincorporated Kern County Resident (proof of address is required)
  • Photo of pet required
  • Up to 4 appointments per household, per lifetime
  • Pets must be 2 months to 7 years of age
  • Pets must be in overall good health


Restrictions:
  • No Dobermans or Doberman mixes, due to clotting issues
  • No nursing or pets that have given birth in the last months, do not qualify
  • Pets that have had any type of abdominal surgery do not qualify
