The Kern High School District’s Regional Occupational Center (ROC) recently announced the ROC Café & Bakery is now open to the public. Located at 501 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, the full-service restaurant is operated by students enrolled in the Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts programs.

Throughout the year, Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts students concentrate on key aspects of the food service and hospitality industries, including food safety, point-of-sale operations, restaurant cuisine, baked goods preparation, and front-of-the-house management. At the ROC Café & Bakery, students apply their skills under the supervision of their instructors, rotating through various business operations.  The students are enthusiastic and eager to serve the public.

The ROC Café & Bakery invites the community to support the next generation of culinary talent by allowing students to showcase their skills and contribute to their professional growth. To view the full-service breakfast and lunch menu, visit https:\\roc.kernhigh.org/apps/pages/cafe_services. For pre-orders and dining room reservations, please call 661-396-4920.
